About This Blog

IMG_0309

This blog aims to explore the simple pleasures of life in the slow lane: meanderings over the doorstep, places been and places dreamed of, local sorties and expeditions further afield – especially those made on two wheels or two feet. It champions the lyrical over the Lycracal, the long soak in the hot tub over the power shower, and the narrative arc of the five day Test to the instant gratification of Twenty20.

This blog is interested in the ‘why’ as well as the ‘where’ of travel’ and is fond of a little pub philosophy, though nothing too headache-inducing. It loves exercise and fresh air, but is also partial to long lie-ins, boozy lunches and afternoon reveries on a sun-dappled river bank.
